Non standard resolutions.

Post by Quaternion »

Many people have netbooks these days which tend to have a resolution of 1024x600. Drakkar isnt playable at this resolution. Would it be possible to change it so the game window can be rescaled?

The window is resizable, unless you mean the window that holds the map?

Pretty much 768 is the min horizontal resolution you can play the game at. I've seen some x600 resolutions work, but about 10 years ago we opted to scale for a minimum of x768 resolution ( horizontal ).

The only way to scale it at this point would be to do some sort of stretching of the image, and i'm not sure that would look good.

Yes I mean the window that holds the map. No point in scaling the windows frame as all it does is cut off what you can see for example on a 1024x600 screen you cant click the tool bar.

Single hex and game image scaled (cubic interpolation) by 600/768, it is small but having it all is better than not playing at all. Appropriate interpolation or slight cropping takes care of any distortion.

Bump.

Creatied a free account and was looking at returning my main accounts but for the time being I'm stuck on a net book and game is unplayable.

Anyone find a solution? I guess I could output to my television, but it would be nice to be able to play without doing that.

***Edit: Forgot to mention the best my netbook can do is 1024x600.

PS. Hey everyone! Been awhile.

set your screen resolution to 1024x768 and let your graphics driver use resolutions outside of the recommended range, the screen will then scroll, but I find its just enough to fit the map + macro bar on the screen with some careful re-arrangement. works for me.

That works.

I found something that might fix it. I can't get it to work (haven't played with it much, need to find the right modelines for my monitor). Maybe someone here will have better luck.

using that method will do the same as I suggested but stop the scrolling, which means there is 168 bar of pixels on your screen you cant see :) kinda silly imo.

From what I understood it would somehow make it fit, lol. Maybe not, hah.
