Advice from bigger ments

Post by Tjortling »

I've got a small ment (15/14). I haven't made any quirk purchases yet, because I didn't think I really knew enough about what a ment truly needs (I still don't know enough). But having gotten espear, I see how quickly I can run through my eps, and I'm tempted to spend all my present quirk points on energy regain and energy points (I have 400 eps, and an uzi, but the ep tank dials moves pretty rapidly over to empty). Is maxing out regain and ep points a bad idea? Should I be looking at "energy specialist" (whatever that is)? Or saving up for something special? What do all those class things offer? What is "Specter's blanket" and "Allied Inversion" and will they always be red? What advice can you give a not-quite-quirky enough little ment?

I've searched the forums, and various web-sites, but haven't found this info. If I've missed it someplace and you just want to point me towards a url, that'd be fine, and please accept my apologies.

Thanks!

Tee, thanks for the post. I appreciate you taking the time to write, and I'm thankful for your advice.

I'm thinking one response to my question is kind of strange. What happened to this forum? I was around briefly three or four years ago, and this place was humming. Or did I just not ask an interesting question?

Thanks again!

go to your preferences and turn on tool tips, hovering over a quirk will explain what it does.

If your biggest problem is running out of ep, then perhaps maxxing energy regain and innate energy will be best for you at this time. energy manipulation will increase the damage you do with enmiss, energyspear by 3% per point allotted. Also enhanced armor and improved reflexes under the combat tab are also helpful to psi users.

Thermic Barrier, Allied Aversion, and the Manipulations are nice to have also. But decide which ones to work up first based on what attacks you use, how often you need to use prots. etc. There is no right way to build up quirks, in the end you will likely have them all maxxed anyways.

Tirith, that's what I was missing. I had tooltips on, but never noticed I could bring up a description by hovering over the quirk name. That was very helpful.

Thanks!

You said in the end I'd probably have them all maxed anyway...I thought the quirk maximum was 250. I'm not sure why I thought that; for the life of me I can't remember how that piece of information -- or misinformation -- wormed into my brain. Is it wrong?

Thanks again!

Quirk Maxxes are level based. At level 70 I believe I have a cap of 1850 if I remember right.

The displayed max ceases to be accurate at some point.

Wow. Even though Darge says sometimes the maxes quoted are not accurate...it seems evident that I'm totally wrong about the 250 max. Good news!

In just a decade or two, I should be big enough to enjoy that! :-)
