Double Def Hally

Post by PieterPost » Wed Mar 02, 2005 2:52 pm

Okay, so this isn't exactly a blooper, but it's superduper odd anyway.

In the past 2 days I've found 2 defense hallies in Aleria, and gave both to friends. Today I was looking for yet another one for yet another hally wielding friend. And what do you know, I find my 3rd one. Unfortunately my friend wasn't on, so I hid it. To be precise, I dumped it in the doorway just south of the pally trainer in iceflows. I figured no one ever ventured there and even if so, they wouldn't be able to see the hally. Just 5 minutes ago I lured my friend to Aleria under some false pretences, and mt'd him to the hally spot. Guess what, hally gone... about 6 hours between my dropping and us arriving there. Weird ey?

So I felt really bad. My friend didn't get his hally and I'll be stuck in slimey caves for yet a bit longer. So off I go, back to them caves. And what the heck! I instantly find a new def hally. That's 4 in 3 days, and 2 of those just today. My friend got his hally and everybody's happy.

But how weird is this!! Aren't those things supposed to be rare?!?!

Nemesis

And the quest for the new silver ss goes on..

ok, memnoch is also a hally finding machine. he's found at least, 12... i think the number is up to 15 actually... and we did the same thing once, his a hally, turns out, a hostile crit looted it, and it tied to it, and wouldnt untie when dropped lol. or something of the such.

If I remember correctly...if you leave an item that normally ties to a crit, laying on the ground untied, it poofs after 3 hours. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can remember this feature, from a while back.

Nah, I think it is different with tied items, than the normal janitor program that clears hexes. Simply cause, yesterday I dropped a pair of illusion bracers in NL Bog, and today, aver 14 hours later, found them. But untied tying items seem to always poof if left laying untied , 3 or 4 hours.

it is different for items that are untied but should tie normally, but that doesnt mean it isnt still part of the janitor program. It can have different ways of dealing with different types of items afterall.

Would only seem natural for it to clean up items that dont yet belong to anyone before it cleans up those items that may have been dropped by someone.

For some Reason Bracers don’t seem to poof or at least last allot longer. If you go in right after the Janitor has gone through you will see a bunch of Helms, Bracers, and Diamonds. Not sure why but those seem to have some resistance to the janitor.

If you are talking about during resets, it depends on who does them.
When Brad does, yes the ground gets cleared. Right now if I do them, they do not, all I do is reboot the servers to give them a clean start.
