barb zerk

Post by Atom »

I think that every player around a barb should be able to hear that really cool zerk noise that us barbs get to hear everytime we zerk. It would add to the role playing value in this game. plus then everyone can hear the sounds brad makes when he gets angry

The terms 'really cool' and 'zerk noise' should never be used in conjuction. I enjoy hearing the existing sounds, and would prefer not to hear 2 or 3 barbs in my party simultaneously grunting as if they have some serious bowel issues.

I wouldn't mind this, if and only if, we could adjust the volume of the game and/or disable the sound without disabling the others. I mean... I'm in the middle of some place, killing stuff. Normal sound... Dezerk one level, rezerk and find myself turning down the sound because someone just looked in my room like there's someone dying.

Lmao

Yeah, I always wondered which public restroom Brad got that soundbite from. I feel sympathy for the source of it.. sounds painful.

The "wonderful" zerk sound is the product of me finding an old drakkar 2 cd with tons of sounds, and just copying them over without listening to them first ( smile ).

I've got a mess of them, but some of them are recorded in some wanky old early wav format. I need a conversion tool. The header of the files have a wav type that windows no longer (or perhaps never did) handle. I just havent had time to track it down.

Try Audacity. It converts quite a few formats. Win/Mac/Linux friendly. Oh and its free.

Slightly OT but a few more sound effects would be nice especially for discs (Earthcrush, Icestorm, FireStorm). I swapped out the Midi files for more decent music but there is a pause in game everytime song replays or switches so I don't play music.

OnTopic.. having to hear that barb zerk sound from a party barb or two just sounds annoying. A chorus of Rooooooooarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggg non-stop, ugh! lol I'd rather hear endless Firebreath, death screams than one barb zerk ;)

What did those .wav files ever do to you?

Now we'll never hear them... <G>
