Drak an addiction?

I was just wondering wether other people just play drak because its an addiction and cant manage to get out of it ?

I dont really see why i play drak anymore everyone i was close to has left and im not too keen on the type of people drak is producing anymore so whats really the point ? only explanation i can think of is an addiction... what you think??

I wouldn't call it an addiction. Addictions can be over come, and beaten. It's much worse for some.

its an addiction yes, but my case is nothing else to do in this little town so i play drak :D
quit several times when doing other things and will prob quit afew more times.

Yes I think it was an addiction for me for a long time - but I now have the cure our PC died on us and we have switched to Mac platform! it really works!! Oh, and no we aren't getting a windows emulator!!

Oh yes, it's definitely an addiction.

I honestly don't know why I play, when I do play.

I do nothing but sit there and click. Mindlessly. With nothing to challenge me that actually gains me something.


I think it has to do with relief from frustration, for me. I get so frustrated with just clicking and clicking and clicking on the same monsters, over and over and over and over. The whole time, my motivation is to see that strength increase.

Then I get my fix, and all that frustration is gone, and it's replaced by pleasure as I use the new power. Then I realize I'm back in the same position. Click. Click. Click. Twitch. Click.

I constantly find myself thinking, "There must be something better!" It's why I click. I click for the future. Click.

Something tells me it's like all other irrational addictions, though. Once I'm free, I'll never go back.

You guys mean that some of you find time to step outside and explore RL-1?

RL-1 can be quite a challenge. You get some decent exp and loot, but I find that most of the places in drakkar are much easier to explore.

Lately, I've even been giving RL-2 a shot. Let me tell you... it's HARD! But I'm so close to leveling up... I can feel it.

Heh, it is an addiction. I was paying money for something that wasn't fun for me. I just rerolled my thief (several times to get rid of all the lockers) and someone said "You are f***** in the head." I've had this game pull me back several times, and I won't stand for it any more. Not like it used to.
It can be done, you can get away. Hope I feel the same in the morning

I'm the one who said that. And I stand by it. Rerolling or Losing your character does not always work.

I know a certain person who lost their level 50 healer (not by choice) and although upset, has began growing another healer and is working hard on retaining her former glory. A Reroll is not the end of the addiction for everyone.

thats why i never did nething to my character when i lost faith in this game lol, thats the difference between a lvl 65, and a lvl 40 rerolled healer

I played on and off for a good 2-4 years, then i quit for a while.
During that time someone hacked my hotmail account and it had my drakkar details, so yeah the password was changed and whatnot and any corespondance with brad trying to fix the matter seemed to dissapear in cyberspace. That was enough for me to leave and never look back. Been playing SWG for over a year now and loving it
