Website Facelift

Post by flisk »

The Main Drakkar website has had a major facelift.

Check it out and let us know what you think.

And yes some areas will be filled out.

Great work! I'll be here to criticize :p

1. The Download button doesn't pop up like the rest.
2. The screenshots are awsome, but need roll over captions and/or player screenshots. 3. Possibly as there are more screenshots, have a page 1 2 3 4 5 6 selection.
4. There's 2 http://www.kingdomofdrakkar.com on the screen.
5. If the website continues to expand, scroll down menu under the main categories.
6. Troubleshooter area for those common problems. Link to the sysop forum to post new problems.
7. Sysop e-mails.
8. Size of files near the downloads so people know what they are downloading, maybe an explanation of the file when they download.
9. A little eye candy would be to make the character that you roll over come to the front while making the rest dim down.
10. Drakkar's main color is yellow, a little more yellow could help liven it, maybe.
11. Where do I sign up?
12. I liked the way Helpful Links is done, Fan Sites can be done the same way?
13. Sysop Diaries could change to a different sysop or scroll through the sysop's to-do list.
14. Scroll-by on the items for sell in the store.
15. A bit of blank space on the side menus when you're looking through faq's, screenshots, and the rest.
16. Some blank space between the official drak news and helpful links.
17. The buttons look sharp and the same except for the words, maybe adding different mini-characters to each might add some liveliness to it. When you roll over it, it would fade to the green without anything behind it.

Am I too picky? I was head of my school newpaper, maybe thats why... :)

I've played Drakkar for 7 years. I've enjoyed all but the last, but that's because of my currently difficult life. I think the game deserves something in return.

Hehe, all I have to say is I like how the trainers are now in the banner.

*Rag wonders where they possibly could have gotten that idea :sarc :D

I wonder if "Flame" was suppose to be in that picture. Now it looks like he's doing some special disc at Flisk.

Wonderful work, and thank you to whoever did this. I have to say, I was shocked when I visited the site today. I had to re-enter the URL several times to make sure I was looking at the right page. The banner is awesome, and the site has a sharp look to it. Very nice and quite lovely to look at, especially when compared to what it was just a few days ago. I think this is something that Drakkar has needed for some time now... glad it finally happened.

I had alot of fun doing it, today I added a few things to the website; under the Helpful Links area. I also changed the home button to make it bigger (got some words from a few players that it was too small). I'm thinking of altering the font size on a couple of pages also, but i've not decided for sure on that yet.

I'm also working on getting some Nameless info on there as soon as I can figure out what questions to ask Brad <grin>. Oh, as well as another Brad interview (but for a little while, maybe in about a month).

18. Add either a link to some screenshots or a screenshot of the designated "8/24 bit" on the download page. Give the downloader an image of which they would prefer. Use a better image of each screenshot. Or just have the same image but in different bits.

Something i noticed. Where do i sign up??? I know where to download but dont see where to sign up. Yes those of us who play know we download it and sign up when we launch the game, but someone new to the game would probally be wondering how to sign up and may not think to download to sign up. Thus get frustrated and leave site.

Just an idea. and again I love the updates.Great Job!!
