Itd be nice to see high skill ments be able to imbue a wider variety of items. I mean you could have some barbs down in UD running around with IV hallys, though at the same time they are ****** if they IV up with the last charge on the hally and it breaks. Not to mention the effort of having to get a new one if you don't have the old one.
Perhaps even let ments imbue on-contact disciplines at 25-50%? Skill 40 imbuing fire bracers or something, well they already have lvl 21 F/I in nork. Ok skill 20 ES on an item would be quite useful, so perhaps make items that are imbued on-contact need repairs much more frequently and MUCH MUCH MUCH more costly to repair.
Perhaps for attack skills they could be imbued into weapons with a % chance of going off, but the higher the % chance the greater the chance the item will break during imbue. Or make it inversely proportionate to its skill level. skill 20 firebreath, 50% chance of going off, 50% chance of being reduced by 50% skill levels so its now going off at skill 10 firebreath on top of the extra cost to repair and breaking faster. Perhaps its 50% chance of going off but goes off randomly at any skill level between 1 and 20. (for a skill 20 item)
Gives imbue a bit more use and revives it, gives players a new place to sink their gold. Could take a nice junk of hitpoints off or even act like an eat like +9 enchants do to make it a more rare or costly investment. 50% cap keeps it from becoming over powered.
Edit:
Perhaps even rework it to combine enchant/imbue into a single command since they are gained at the same skill anyway. form imbue enchant for combat adds, for imbuing spells.. say you want to poison a weapon, maybe different items are also needed in addition to the above. Level 1 poison, flower pots, level 5 poison pearl, level 10 pbow, improved pbow 12. Fire, alerian fire gem..etc.
