Halloween Event - Outdated from 1999

Post by RayonMazter »

I haven't seen much of brad or omni, but an idea came forward that sounds like an easy edit that shouldn't take much time if accepted.

A huge majority of players in the game have absolutely no use for the halloween event right now because their characters stats are beyond it's stat max.

So the suggestion, and hope that others agree, is that the cap could be raised to 25.

The number 25, because a once a year event should yield the possibility of a better reward than a quest (dion) that you can do anytime, and i'm sure the majority of us don't have stats past 23.

I think it would bring the interest and participation in the event back up, and show that we aren't being ignored :P

This is a Nork event, as such will not go above Nork standard max.
We are looking in to ideas for new events.

Alternatively.. How about allowing players to take their baskets to NPCs in cob and NL and receive candy from NPCS in those scenarios with different maxes?

Why new ideas? There are plenty of ideas from players, and probobly plenty more where people would like to take part on something like this - which again would make players feel less ignored.

My suggestion was made because even the boots quest is having problems making its way into the game in short time - and I think if something of that magnitude takes this long to get the attention of brad to get implimented properly, new events were the last thing we expected.

I don't intend to come across offensively, but the general mood that i'm running into now that i've come back (for the several'th time) is the lack of enthusiasm by both players and sysops anymore; and from the players side, the sum of reasoning behind that appears to be players lack of faith in brads interest in Drakkar.

And this lack of faith is mostly due to lack of updates and response from the developer(s).

So whatever this new idea becomes, since that's apparently on the table - can it be something more community oriented over clicking npc's with a basket in-hand?

I wonder what percentage of players are nork crits and under 18/19 stat cap?

What I'm trying to say is, that ignoring the larger percentage player base of the game or not including them in events is a bad move.

Something should be in place to accomodate for all levels.

How about this, the candy can work in relation to your level. this way nork crits will have norken stats, and like wise for cob crits.

1-18 = 18 stat max

19-25 = 19 stat max

25 - 40 =20 stat max

40 - 50 = 21 stat max

51-55 = 22 stat max

56- 60 = 23 stat max

61 - 70 = 24 stat max

71 upward = 25 stat max

that way the larger players can get involved and nork alt 2 will be full, like it used to be when the majority playerbase was less than less than level 70.

there is already a validation on the candy when its used to check for event status, can you not just add some extra validation code to check for the level? - much similar to the NL con pots that do the same thing.

Copy and paste cant be THAT hard.

There was a bug in the pots, but I reset the game today and you can get them again. They work now and you will get something regardless of level.

This is a permanent addition to Halloween, it will return again next year.
