- New client version ( game version 4.8 )

Download from the main web site.

- Fixes a long standing game-entry crash, and a scenario transfer crash. Another net effect is that game-entry will be faster.

03/28/2011 - Nork 1 Test Update

New version being tested on nork 1 :

By popular player call, i've spent some time re-engineering the damage routines for the old-style disciplines.

- Added the ability for the OLD school area of effect disciplines FIREBALL/BREATH ICESTORM/BREATH to be affected by the "aversion" series.

Need serious testing and feedback.

Important!!
1) Please make sure you have the LATEST client and LATEST frontend ( 1.35rc4 and frontend version 4.8 ( March 15th )
2) Make sure you aren't running any old versions of the product in the background.. or products which may be BASED on old versions. There are some protocal improvements that may cause issues with older versions.

- Allied Aversion changes are up on all scenarios

Note: The "fractured" updates you see on your screen, are because we are now sending all updates as they occur, instead of holding them until the update process is over. This is to allow us to support multiple frontend types ( from javascript to java to flash ).

We are working on a way to have the PC frontend not register an update until all are received, as some people may find this update process unsettling.

Mormar Book Fixes

"NEW" Mormar collection books should now function correctly.

There was a difficult to spot typo which caused many of them to be created incorrectly. All *NEWLY* created books should now work correctly for "adding" pages.

Sorry for the delay! Was tough to spot and verify the fix had occurred!

Quick modifications: ( For thursday )

- Doubled titan bone drop rate
- Also added titan bones to specters ( previously they were not dropping them )


Note:

Have a new VM server running, and will be moving things there. Also working on a way to have a "challenge cob" server for the challenge side. Need to work out one technical challenge.

Posted for player feedback:

Now live in all scenarios:

1) When a corpse is searched, the coins are automatically placed in your sack ( if there is room )
2) Far heavier items now fit in your sack than previously ( all but some of the heaviest types )
3) Coins in your sack no longer encumber you.

Upcoming Game Changes

We are implementing the following game changes, subject to player feedback. They will appear in the next reset.

1) NL SDC areas have had their lighting/etc damage cut by over half
2) QUIT will no longer require you to be out of combat.
3) QUIT will now allow you to quite almost anywhere in the game ( you wont be restricted from quitting, though you may be moved out of the areas )
4) Skill level 40 mentalists will now be able to MEMORIZE teleport spots in previously protected areas. We do reserve the right in the future to have certain areas restricted.

- Have a potential fix for the mentalist skill level 40 teleport issue. May take some tweaking here.
- Have a potential fix to allow people who are "over" the experience they need for a level ( post 50 ), to earn that level. Try doing something that would earn experience, and it should level you up.
( Have a stan's )

New Feature:

- Skill level 40 martial artists have learned how to SWEEP large creatures

Upcoming changes

I'm just finishing the layout of the final "GDH" consort area, the SDC "finale" areas with the final SDC encounter.

I feel there is a bit of a rough transition right now power/level wise, so I'm considering raising the level cap to 85, in order to allow less "maxed out" players to
push through existing content, and not come in at the "bottom" of the power level required for the upcoming area.

Please let me know if you object to this concept,

04232012 - Host Upgrade / Bug Fixes

Currently ONLY in NL:


- Host code upgrade to enable more "hands free" actions ( not yet live in PC client ). These include pouch to ground, belt to ground, etc.
- Host code upgrade to make UP and DOWN work for either up or down stair cases ( No longer need to type UP for an UP and DOWN for a down ), may seem small
but allows a lot of expansion possibilities.
- The level cap has been raised to 85! ( The level 78->80 quester will now take you to level 85. You may need to repeat the final part of the quest to be activated)
- Creatures who could take you to level 80 can now take you to level 85
- This should allow "stronger" characters to enter some of the new areas. Also, it should allow characters to "catch up" to areas more easily.

Nork 1 is now a fully featured nork scenario!

Nork 1 ( free nork ) now contains all compatible content from Nork 2 ( Customer Nork )

- Most NL creatures have been cured of "deplete-itus"
- Additional SDC creatures have had some of their exagerated abilities reduced
- Additional code going up for application into the new SDC area ( henceforth called SDC3 )

- Guildhall - There is a new NPC in the UGH!
- Traveller's Aid now has an advanced form, given to players over level 69.

As we transition to opening COB up for item transfer, please remember that from this point forward, any item taken to COB/CCOB will no longer by usable by FREE ACCOUNTS.

SDC Expansion Open!

- The final Silver Dragon Consort segment of the Nameless Lands "Green Dragon Hatcheries" is now live!
( Climbup hidden in the previous final area )
- New artwork by the awesome Flisk!

- Additonal levels of many party leadership skills have been added
- Party leadership gain now functions for parties of 2 or more, with a bonus starting at 3.
- Each registered guild hall subscription adds to the party bonus
- Advanced primals that are "auto cast when worn" now properly modify all attributes, just not combat attributes

- Several items in the earlier SDC area have had additional benefits added to them ( when new drops occur ), these
include several rings
- The ice titan has had his treasure beefed up.
- Most GDH creatures have had their "instant deplete" ability removed
- There is an advanced form of traveller's aid now available in the guild hall.. You receive the advanced form at level 69
- Most bottles (including those with advanced psionics) can be drug to your face for drinking
- Brewed stat potions now last a VERY long time
- You may now achieve the 85th level of experience!
- Nork1 is now a carbon copy of Nork2, with nork 2 content (Previously announced )
- There is a new quester in the guild hall, who can experimentally improve your weapon!


- Coins no longer count towards encumberance
- Many very large items now fit neatly in your sack
- Searched corpses will automatically move coins to your sack

Cobrahn:
- Items taken to cobrahn will no longer be usable by free acounts.
- Please comment in the forums on the "opening cob up for direct item transfer", as we close in on a decision there
Other :
- Forums once again properly register new users

Small note:
- There is a new setting on an item which makes it AUTO SENSE when LOOKED at. Currently there is only one item in
the game with this setting, its designed to help with allocating treasure after lair hunts.

Couple fixes:

- Finally believe we have the treasure table right in the SDC3 area. More than bottles should drop ( smile )
- One note we forgot to mention. The bank caps for the coin related quirks has been raised ( Friendly Teller, etc ).
- The log-cabin town IH seller now has very "potent" ih bottles
- The log-cabin town bank now has a check based withdrawl system

Host Upgrade! Cobrahn Item Barrier Coming Down!

Join us tonight at 10pm eastern for the dropping of the Cobrahn Item Barrier!

The game will shutdown for a server reset at 10pm an come back up about 10:30pm eastern!

After player feedback ( thanks ), the following are the mechanics:
- Items created in Cobrahn will usable outside Cobrahn if the character is powerful enough to control the energies ( 20th exp level or higher )
- Any item TAKEN to cobrahn will no longer be usable by free accounts
- The portals will remain in the same locations, with the same text and storylines, but we will just remove the item checks ( leaving cobrahn ). This is so we can quickly turn it back on when the usual disaster occurs!
- As some Cobrahn items are extremely "messed up" anyway, we reserve the right to reduce their effectiveness outside of Cobrahn ( on a case by case basis )

Other Notes on this version:
- Party leadership experience gain will now be displayed ( along with the associated bonuses ). This is both for your fun and my debugging! To enable it,
the command will be LEADER ENABLE and LEADER DISABLE ( Note : This just changes the display )
- DAMAGE done by attacks will now be displayed! Both psionic and melee. You will now be better equipped to both judge weapon damage, as well as benefits from buffs, etc. A word on this.. remember some weapons / effects are resisted differently by different types of creatures. Be aware of this when judging effects

- Fixed a bug with MUG and some other damaging attacks which caused your client to lockup
( It was the new code that displays damage )


Major Changes to the Barbarian Class:
- Barbarian abilities now "scale" better in the high end game. Improvements include:
- ARG picks a target if none present and reprocesses
- For barbarians level >= 50, FURY Round attacks now use the full barbarian damage potential ( Instead of capping at a +10 bonus)
- FURY / Post fury has one extra full damage attack ( based on berserk random (zerk + enh zerk quirk chance) every 10 levels starting at 55
( one at 55, 65, 75, 85 )
- Heath returned from being beserked when you attack has been increased at 51, 71 and 81 ( AKA "Vamp" healing )
- Note : These damage changes also apply to the "vamp" healing

- There is a new high end solo area in the nameless lands. Follow the dangerous meadows to the lava city.. you shall find an entrance
- Note: This is an experimental area designed for solo play. Initial tests show all classes can solo there. ( It may take some play adjustments )
- Note: Drops are designed to further ability to play there, not as treasure drops ( which would cause groups to go "burning" there )
- Note: There will be a lot of tuning done here

- Few bug fixes server side: We have made some corrections to twig sensing that should cause it to behave better now.
- We have made some updates to POWERWORD HEAL that should eliminate ( or at least help us debug ), the healer "taking damage" issue

- Balancing adjustment for mid level Mentalists: After long years of study, the nork mentalist guild has been able to adjust both the cost and stress of the ENERGY LANCE discipline. Half physical and Half Energy, this discipline should be very cost effective for mid level hunts.

New NL Version!
- Expanded group hunting area in the SDC Meadows!
- The paladin ability SINGE OF GOOD has had it's recast time lowered
- The auto-hit/zero damage issue in the meadows has been corrected, and tuned based on player feedback
- The Silver Consort himself has a new drop table.. and has been boosted in power accordingly
- The "meadows" OMNILLA creature class is now classified as "Evil"
