Nice Touch!

I recently took one of my "small" slots to hunt Aleria Goblin King. The Fool spawned and did his trick and got me thinking to my very first encounter with him many years ago. My small pally suddenly was getting his attacks blocked and his butt kicked all over the lair. It was then I notice...

Some tied things can only be gotten by physically going to where they drop.

Other than making it easier for big players to sell these items and hand carry them to the purchaser, what use do you see for such gauntlets?

Blue light has a shorter wave length and higher frequency than red. All visible light is scattered somewhat by the air, but blue and violet most of all. Most of the light reflected from the thinnest part of the atmosphere (looking directly above), is blue/violet. That is why directly overhead can ap...

Speaking as a paladin, when fighting monsters that are difficult to hit, especially big armor defense, there is a noticeable drop in ability to land a blow when going from Middle Aged to Old and Very Old. Same holds true for weapon blocking. For some top-end lairs, I will drink a YP before the fight...

>> thieves need to know whats targeting them... Is it really that critical? I would like to know because I play with abridged combat messages and do not have an issue playing my thief. Maybe I am missing something. If a monster is off hex, melee and does not charge (a majority of monsters), then I a...

Just a note: when the feature actually works the way Brad said it should, there will be a difference between who gets the kill shot and who gets credit for the kill. Having the credit message affected by the Abridged Combat Message setting is probably a good idea, although I suspect it might require...

Staffs appear to block at full effectiveness with just one hand, but attack much better when wielded 2handed. It is tough to skill staff. They don't hit too hard. But as a mentalist, you can use an area spell to notch critters to almost dead, then whack them with a stick for skill. Or leech skill fr...

It really is not very difficult to get sufficient LS skill to hit SoB and Chipudha in todays game. Years ago it might have been an issue. The saber is available to any class that is good aligned. They can also be killed with psi attacks. You need a tad higher MA skill to land a blow on SoB with vamp...

Thanks in advance!

I just want to add that the one-time $50 cost was money well spent given the fun I have had playing the segment. Sure its been frustrating and buggy at times. OTOH, the lair encounters and group hunts are great fun. And I have no complaints about the gear. And besides, its a great opprotunity to whi...

Maybe Flisk can select the top 3 or 4 submissions and mod the site so it rotates them?

Very strange results indeed yeti. You'd a thunk the skill gain would be reversed given Brad's posted formula. Both were trained? We ran an informal test in Cob last night for about an hour. 3 players in Keep Sewers. Level range was 18 to 22. Skill range was from 14 to 20. One FM doing all psi, pally...

In your specific example, you are getting more skill per same amount of time. So obviously it is to your advantage to party even though you are getting less skill PER KILL in a party than solo. A lot depends on how close to the skill cap the smaller skilled player is for the area being hunted, can s...

Up until last reset, skill from a directed attack was independent of who got the kill shot. A critter gave X amount of skill. Everyone in the party got the same X skill points, subject to the 0.03% skill cap for their skill level. If you had guild house and/or gold plan, i don't remember exactly whi...
