I personally know of 3 areas in 2 scenarios that have yet to be discovered. one was even put in as little as a month ago... and yeah, lair crits too... and didn't omni have a nameless event this weekend? it sems darge has new artwork going in almost monthly... all kinds of new going on with drakkar...

I just think the FH portal will become an appealing alternative moving forward, and it could be considered a method of bypassing gathering crystals the first time through. I suspect there will be some players out there that will go this route instead of hunting crystals, but the majority of players...

But for new players, it could actually be a complete deal breaker to even do the quest. (speaking of uther in particular) With very few people able to successfully hunt up the crystals(and this is mostly in reference to water plain due to drowning damage, constant blind, and the rarity of the drop)...
