Re: Now I know I am one of the last remaining thieves.. but.

Trapsack is also cool in theory, but again since there is no player stealing and most dungeons dont steal / mug. Half the lairs don't steal / mug... somewhat pointless. I used to use TS on my party when fighting dragons. Dragons (especially Mama Red) routinely would steal IHs from party members mak...

I haven't seen it happen. I've got prox maxed and only 2 pips in qs. Of course, I haven't gone back to decipher all the (potentially) hundreds of dozens attacks to check, but still I doubt it. <speculation> I suspect that a qs backstab is still fundamentally a 'normal' attack where in you simply do ...

Overall I find this quirk far from crappy. It does have its issues... well issue, the unexpected hiding. I suggest that perhaps smaller thieves won't see the utility. Yes, it can be a nuisance with the sudden hiding, however, if you are out in the open you are only hidden for one round, if that. I'm...

If you are looking to maximize the stat bonuses you can skill up either ss or mace and then hold another ss/mace in off hand doubling the stat bonuses (+20 str/agil). If you go with some other weapon you'll end up with just the off hand +10, but you won't need to skill up the weapon just to hold it ...

Weapon skill is subjective: dagger, ss, ls are all good choices. I'm sure there are others equally worthwhile. There are pros and cons to each weapon type. Pick something and stick with it. You'll also want to skill up some thrown skill. I'm on the fence on quirks. On the one hand I like extra power...

Do any other thieves have problems gaining quirks? My thief has no problem gaining quirks. I've gained them fighting easy stuff, fighting hard stuff, wiffing at really hard stuff, standing around, getting cc'd, opening my locker, running across all sorts of terrain, among other things. I've got the...

No, I haven't purchased any quirk powers yet, but I just thought of another situation where this might come in handy: When yer backstabbing along, and some fool in yer party decides to stun the crit who just happens to have targeted you leaving you with nothing better to do for three (or more) round...

Hey, it's an idea, stab it all you want. However, my idea doesn't create work for anybody, except the guy that has to code it. I'm just reacting to Flisk's comments about it taking forever to figure out who did what. There's no reason for the sysops' portion of the complaint equation to take forever...

Huh? Was that directed at my 'solution' or something else? If you're saying it's impractical to let your sysops get to the root of an issue (did someone do x at that place?) in a timely manner then I really don't understand the purpose of sysops. My proposal doesn't put work out of the game and onto...

Seems to me the sysops need a tool with which they can more easily search through the logs. A simple search by crit name, hex number/range and/or time period would, based on Flisk's description, help enormously. Of course, I've no idea how the back end of this game is set up but even a simple SQL (o...

I've found little correlation between appraised value and what it does--except with illusion rings which devalue the more you use them. Since you say 'it can only be' one thing I'd have to go with illusion ring.
